Summer Vacation #2: Becker Blast

For the first time since the Stephen & Joy wedding two and a half years ago, all members of my immediate family got together for the very first Becker Blast. I have three siblings, and they all have spouses coming in from Ohio, Colorado, and the Philippines. Add in my parents, and that's a total of ten. For extra fun, my first nephew was also there, five-week-old Elijah Samuel, and he is just about the cutest thing you've ever seen. We all were together in one big cabin in a state park in Missouri, nestled in the hills between the Ozarks and St. Louis. We did some hiking, mountain biking, swimming, and even a little cave exploring. Here are some of my favorite pictures:

Wow, Bro, that makes me feel really good about the photos I took! I bet you didn't even know I got that one of you and Joy walking--how romantic! Keep that romance alive. Also I like the brothers pics and the one of Elijah on your chest. Precious moments!

Also about your blog below--one more book recommendation you should add to your summer reading: "Endurance" by Alfred Lansig. I think you would really find that one of your favorites--it includes psych with inter-personal dynamics, the outdoors, survival, perseverance and leadership. A must read!

Hey Stephen! Somehow I stumbled upon your blog, and it's been such a trip reading your thoughts on life and books and whatnot. And I have to say - you and Joy are punks for not calling me and John when you were in Florida! We're excited to see y'all in Boston in September! Hope all's well with you.
